About The Chaos Cabinet

Welcome to the Cabinet

What This Is

You can think of this blog like a public commonplace book. It's where I store anything I find interesting enough to be worth keeping. That could be a fact, a quote, a piece of music, a work of art, or anything really. That's why it's The 'Chaos' Cabinet: there's no central theme, just one man following his curiosity wherever it leads.

If you're a fan of sites like Listverse, where I'm a regular writer, Futility Closet, Mental Floss, or The Marginalian, you'll probably enjoy what I share here.

Why It Exists

As a content writer with a focus on strange facts, I'm always screenshotting or noting down interesting things I've heard so that I can write about them later. But between my laptop, my phone, and my many physical notepads, lots of fascinating stuff just disappears into the ether.

That's why I've decided to centralize my fact-finding efforts by publishing everything here.

Who's Behind It

I am by far the least interesting topic on this website, but if you really want to know, my name is Kieran Torbuck. I'm a freelance writer from the UK who specializes in quirky factual pieces about science, history, and the arts. I've been known to dabble in pop culture, too. See my recent articles on my personal website.
