Stephen King's Love For This Song Almost Got Him Divorced
What kind of music becomes the obsession of a prolific horror writer? The answer will surprise you.
You only have to read a Stephen King novel to know he is a man with a truly disturbed mind (and we love him for it), but apparently not all of his eccentricity gets poured onto the page. This can make him difficult to deal with on a personal level. For instance, the man himself reports that his wife once threatened to divorce him after he became obsessed with a song and couldn't stop playing it.A Little Less Tabitha In My Life
He bought a version of the single that had a dance mix and an instrumental mix of the song on it, but this wasn't enough variety for his wife, who grew so sick of it she reportedly threatened, "One more time, and I'm going to f*****g leave you."
So what was the song he loved so much it brought his marriage to its limits? Perhaps more importantly, was it something spooky and disturbing? Not quite, although you might find his obsession with it disturbing. The song was Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega!
Thanks, Alex
